Share Your Poor English: 5 Ways to Correct It
2017-8-10 10:03
I would guess that more than half of the CELs (Chinese English Learners) that I connect with, tell me, "Michael, my English is poor." This seems to be an attempt at relieving any responsibility for mistakes that they think they are going to make. I have more than 11,000 students connected with me from all over Asia and other parts of the world. I interact with them. I have 19 groups on WeChat which all have more than 300 people each. I talk to dozens of Chinese English teachers every mo ...

Share Chinese Students Don't Need To Cheat
2017-5-17 07:03
I just heard another disturbing report of Chinese students cheating on the TOEFL exam in the USA. Of course, all were arrested and will face criminal charges because, by cheating, they defrauded the U.S. government by breaking visa procurement laws. This follows the recent news of a top government official's son in the U.K. who went to jail for attempting to bribe some of his professors for higher scores. Here's what I know about Chinese students. I know because I've taught more than 3,000 of ...

Share Misused English Words Part 1
2017-5-13 05:14
Accept vs. Except These two words sound similar but have very different meanings. Accept means to receive something willingly: “His mom accepted his explanation” or “She accepted the gift graciously." Except signifies exclusion: “I can attend every meeting except the one next week. To help you remember, note that both except and exit begin with ex. Exit means 'to go out.' Add me on WeChat For FREE Daily English Lessons WeChat ID - BigTEXZZ 4/12/17 Good morning. I realize that a lot of non-native speaking English teachers will tell you that the secret to speaking English fluently is to learn to make ‘connected sounds’ between two words. They will tell you that when you see two words together like ‘next to’, that you shouldn’t say the last ’t’ in next and the first ’t’ in to. They will tell you to say the ’t ...

I would say it this way, “Go where people like you and are ha ...

Ture but most Chinese return to China Plus if your have not mastered English a degree from Harvard with a 75% average means nothing. Now if you end up in the top 10% of your class then by all means it is better. But really how many Chinese end up in the top 10% in any USA university? Maybe 1 out of 10,000.If you do not want to return to China then yes Harvard Degree is better.
