The scandal involving another 30 Brazilian food companies accused of changing the expiration date of spoiled meats, makeup their appearance or using chemicals to mask the bad smell had a great international repercussion.

For the New York Times, the scandal rocked the firm pillar of the fragile national economy, Agribusiness. For the newspaper, the case raises doubts about the Agro sector and is another blow to the country trying to recover from other major scandals, such as those of Petrobras and Odebrecht.
