I would like to share with people on chinadaily some valuable books that I have come across. Well, I am a history buff. It is a universal truth that those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it. I once was challenging a Chinese friend about the ancient Chinese history; I still remember her telling me that learning history is just for bragging because it can't get you a good job nowadays. I realized that she was half right; it is true that reading about history will not bring you a dime, but it is very useful if you want to write about history or have a conversation with someone. Besides, knowing the history may help you to overcome similar situations and dilemmas that our ancestors have conquered. Today I feel the need of sharing with everyone here some wonderful books from different fields:

1.      Sapiens : a brief history of humankind by Yvala Noah Harari

I couldn’t put this book down; it attracted me like a magnet, it is our story. The book is telling us how we human came to this historically and biologically sometimes. Describing the three revolutions, the cognitive revolution, the agricultural revolution and the scientific revolution. The way it tells our story from the big bang until this very day is just mind blowing and fascinating.

2.      The art of war by sun tzu

I love Chinese history and a tremendous fan of sun tzu, I read this book three times in three different languages, English, Chinese and Arabic. I can find the words to describe the wisdom of sun tzu and his amazing strategies. Many military around the world academies teach this book. This book will help you to conquer not only your enemy at the battle field as a combatant but also useful to overcome your difficulties in business deals, that’s why Donlad Trump titled his bestselling book "the art of the deal".

3.      The Quran

There are about 1.6 billion believers and rising in this book, it is a must-read book if you want to better understand Islam and get an idea of the reasons behind the lifestyles of Muslims, their motives and the way they think and plan their lives.

4.      The holy bible

Well, I guess learning about the biggest faith on earth in terms of the number of its followers is a very important thing, however, the Christian faith and teaching is not basically based on the bible. Unlike Islam,

5.      Thus spoke Zarathustra by Friedrich Nietzsche

This philosophical work is the most famous and influential work. It changed the way I think and impacted me a lot. It describes how the ancient Persian prophet Zarathustra descends from his solitude in the mountains to tell the world that god is dead and that the superman, the human embodiment of divinity, is his successor.

6.      The selfish gene by Richard Dawkins

Genetic scientist Richard Dawkins is a brilliant writer, I have read two of his most famous works, the selfish gene and the god delusion. I strongly recommend the selfish gene, it is well-written. He builds upon the theory of natural selection. It discusses the battle of sexes in a very interesting way.  From the gene-centered view, it follows that the more two individuals are genetically related, the more sense it makes for them to behave selflessly with each other.

7.      The prophet by Kalil Gibran

One of the best beloved classics of our time. The prophet is a collection of poetic essays that are philosophical, spiritual and unspiritual. It is divided into twenty-eight chapters covering such sprawling topics as love, marriage, children, giving, eating and drinking, work, joy and sorrow, housing, clothes, buying and selling, crime and punishment, laws, freedom, reason and passion, pain, self-knowledge, teaching, friendship, talking, time, good and evil, prayer, pleasure, beauty , religion, and death.

8.      Relativity : the special and the general theory , by Albert Einstein

It is very important to know something about the most intelligent achievement in the history of humankind. According to Einstein himself, this book is intended to give an exact insight into the theory of relativity to those readers who, from a general scientific and philosophical point of view, are interested in the theory, but who are not conversant with the mathematical apparatus of theoretical physics.

9.       guide to investing in gold and silver by Michael Maloney

This book telling us the history of economic cycles that make gold and silver the ultimate monetary standard, why precious metals are one of the most profitable, easiest and safest investments you can make. When, where, and how to invest your money and realize maximum returns, no matter what the economy's state. It surprisingly shows how the US government is driving inflation by diluting the money supply and weakening the purchasing power.

10.  The currency war by Song Hongbing

This book is a bestseller in china, and its reportedly being read by many senior level government and business leaders in china .It is an iterating book.

The book, unfortunately, is still only in Portuguese, but is being translated into English, was published by Chiado Editora of Portugal and is called "Escape Route, the untold story of the SS", below is a link to An explanatory material about the book.

I  read a  lot  of  history  books.  I  would  recommend  The  Times  Atlas  of  World  History.  Like  German  historians,  the writers at  The  Times  Atlas  lead  the  reader  on  parallel  routes  across  history in  different  parts  of  the world.  At  the  very  beginning  of  recorded  history  existed  the  city  states  of  Babylon,  the  Iranian  empire,  Egypt,  Stonehenge, the  Hittites,  the  Greeks,  and  relatively  nebulously  there  were East Asian agriculturalists,  the Huaxia,  Tungus,  Turks,  Mongols.

I  also  own  a Quran,  a  Bible  and  a  Thalmud but  I  have  not  succeeded at  reading  either  to  its  end.

Sun  Tzu  reminds  me  a  bit  of  Macciavelli...

My name is Michael Lee a citizen of Illinois, USA. i have been scammed by 7 different Internet international lender, they all promise to give me a loan after making me pay several fees which yield nothing and amounted to no positive result. i lost my hard earn money and it was a total of 23930USD. One day as i was browsing through the internet with tears on my eye i came across a testimony of man who was also scammed and eventually got linked to a legit loan company called MARTINEZ LEXIE LOAN COMPANY where he finally got his loan, so i decided to contact the same loan company and then told them my story on how i have been scammed by 7 different lenders who did nothing but to course me more pain. I explain to the company by mail and all they told me was to cry no more because i will get my loan in their company and also i have made the right choice of contacting them. I filled the loan application form and proceeded with all that was requested of me and to my greatest surprise my loan was granted to me without further delay and here i am today happy because Martinez Lexie Loan Company HAS GIVEN ME A REASON TO LIVE, so i made a vow to my self that i will keep testifying on the internet on how i got my loan. My book for March was supposed to be The Art of War by Sun Tzu, however, the version I bought was a collection of The Art of War and Thirty-Six Stratagems, the latter was actually not a piece of work by Sun Tzu. Unknowing why, I got interested in Thirty-Six Stratagems and decided to read it first. Now I've finished reading the stratagems and I guess I would continue reading The Art of War. For April's reading, my interest was caught up by a newly bought book called "China 1945".
