Share Who are more romantic, men or women?
2014-4-20 08:29
The word romance is associated with the notion of being vulnerable in men's minds. They are conditioned to perceive being romantic as being feminine or being a wimp. Even the meaning of the word romance is confusing to men in general. I took upon myself the task of asking the men whom I encountered in my daily life about their perceptions and definitions of the word romance and discovered that there was no distinct consensus to the concept of romance among men. ...

Share Getting old is a Frightening yet an enlightening experience
2014-4-19 10:01
After getting up this morning and taking a close look at the mirror, I was shocked to discover a grumpy old man starring back at me. A perplexing question crept into my mind: “Who is that old man wearing my cloth?” The harsh truth was abundantly clear. The old man is yours truly. What did happen to the energetic young individual who was full of life and joy? Answering that question was an easy yet a chagrined task: Age does that to you. Sharing my thoughts with my Chinese wife ...

Share Two Chinese Terms a Foreigner must know to Live Peacefully, with a Chinese Wife
2014-4-17 18:05
Prior to embarking upon the tedious task of writing this article, I took few weeks to contemplate about the consequences of publishing it. Some may jump to the conclusion that the objective of my article is to degrade or demean the Chinese women. Actually, the contrary stands true. I am attempting to be objective in mentioning their numerous qualities along with their minor idiosyncrasies or flaws. Since I am an optimistic individual by nature, I shall begin with the merits of th ...

Share The obstacles faced by Chinese students in mastering English
2014-4-16 20:14
I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to reside and teach in China for the past ten years. I had the chance to teach students of all age groups and various educational backgrounds. Unfortunately, I discovered that most of my students were facing several obstacles in attaining competence or achieving fluency in the English language. Being a writer with an inquisitive mind prompted me to study the phenomenon. Through my interactions with my students and endless dis ...

Share A Recipe for a Mutually Satisfying Relationship
2014-4-12 09:08
Creating a healthy environment for a mutually satisfying relationship became the most hard and tedious task that a couple has to face in the complicated society in which we live. Nowadays, divorce is the norm and everlasting relationships are perceived as one of the wonderful memories of ancient history. One must wonder: Is there any hope that the human race will be capable of conquering the domain of relationships between the two genders by simplifying its conce ...

Share Exposing the Myth about the Romantic Nature of Foreigners
2014-4-10 19:20
My profound fascination with the harmonious combination of contradictions of the Chinese culture was one of the main reasons that prompted me to embark upon my wonderful journey to the land of glorious history, China in August 2003. Being an author and an expert in the behavioral conduct of people had geared me to observe closely the misconceived notion acquired by the majority of Chinese ladies pertinent to the romantic nature of foreigners in general and men in particular. ...

Share Is there truth in online romance?
2014-4-8 19:04
A few months ago, I received an invitation to the wedding of one of my Canadian friends who was marrying a Chinese lady. I called to thank him for the invitation and out of curiosity, I asked about the circumstances that led to their meeting. I was shocked to learn that they met online. He explained that he had been teaching for a few years in several Asian countries including China. Out of loneliness, he turned to the Internet to find some company. He started to chat with a fe ...

Share Surviving the Hellish World of Cyber Dating
2014-4-7 16:09
Have you ever ventured into the dangerous zone of cyber dating? If you did, you would agree with my assessment of the phenomenon. You probably have tried, heard or read about the game of dating online. Calling it a jungle is a justifiable terminology. It would be unfair to describe all users of cyber dating in despicable terms, because there are still decent and honest people who refer to the medium as a last resort to find their partners. However, one should never trust or believe any ...

Share When women sacrifice their youth for a ticket to the West
2014-4-7 06:01
Seeing a young local woman in the company of an older Western man has become a common sight in Chinese cities. One may wonder about the reasons that would cause a young woman to sacrifice her youth by marrying a gentleman as old as or even older than her father. Could it be pure love that is initiated by the romantic souls of those involved? Yes, that is a possibility. However, in most cases, it is not. Most experts in marriages and relationships, including myself, bel ...

Share The Spring Festival, a Time to Reflect
2014-4-5 13:19
As the festive occasions, such as the Spring Festival and the Chinese New Year, approach, I find myself drawn into a period of contemplation regarding my identity. Since I was born in Egypt, spent most of my life in Canada, resided in China for the past ten years and currently married to a Chinese lady, it is hard to figure out to which of these three glorious nations I do belong. In my heart, I consider all of them to be my homes. I can’t imagine choosing one over the others. ...

  • Is Trump's Impeachment a Definite Possibility? 2017-7-12 23:49

On what grounds? You are reading too much western press. (Or Jenflex's posts).

  • Is Trump's Impeachment a Definite Possibility? 2017-7-12 22:32

Admittedly, Donald Trump is what is called an unorthodox political figure, loud and as you said, impulsive as evidenced by his seemingly off-the-cuff tweets.
Nevertheless, people may get used to his unpredictability over time, or even start to enjoy the drama surrounding him. You may find the US political scene too drab after Donald Trump steps down as president. lol.
