African Day is quite a memorable and interesting occasion in the life of Africans in the whole world. On that note, the Liaoning University African student Association(LUASA) did a grand style celebration on Saturday the 24th of May 2014 to recognize this wonderful event.Look forward for my next post for an update on that.
Cheers

This is what I tried to post on your blog comment. The validation failed..

Yes, it is galling on many levels and to see the freedoms go to waste because enough people have not taken on the responsibility that come with them. It is not just the US, India is a classic case since its declaration of Independence in 1947. But then, in both cases, there has been a constant manipulation of the system and its portrayal in the media and the rot has set in deep as I see it. I think the voting system is not effective either - once in 4 or 5 years, a single vote with no compulsion, and it is certainly not a coincidence that voting traditionally happens on a Tuesday in the US!! Many workers dependent on their job cannot get time off. Of course, now there are alternatives, but it seems designed to exclude as many for as long as possible... There is something broken in the system worldwide. People in other countries may be democratically more active, but those countries do not turn out so powerful or influential in the world as the US has.

I think you may have a good attitude towards life. I am a teacher in China, Jiangsu province. our students live in school every day. they go back home once two weeks, and only a day. they work very hard, i hope they can have a brighter future, and can go out to have a look at different lives.

Looks like Uncle Laowai is going to be making an appearance in Hong Kong and Southern China later this year.  As things come together with the powers to be in Beijing (i.e. visas), should be able to give a shout out as to the particulars.
