China’s Law-enforcement-Diplomacy

If the term “soft power” indicates state’s influence to the world, China’s law enforcement diplomacy in 2015 enhance its soft power in 2015.

In 2014, China authority launched a special international law enforcement operation to arrest the escapee, and there were only a few experts perceive the impacts of both China and the world.  For example, Chinese experts confirm the operation’s positive effectiveness from domestic politics. “‘Fox Hunt 2014’: China’s Overseas Campaign Against Corrupt Officials”  considered the international operation as a measure to repatriate corrupt officials.

However, China’s special operation turned into a new international relation agenda. In August 2015,  US government made a response to China’s "Operation Fox Hunt". According to the report- “Obama administration warns against China’s “Operation Fox Hunting” in US”, US State Department issued a warning against the agents’ activities, for the reason that “neither Chinese ministries nor the US department have formally commented on the allegations”.

Whatever the US response, China’s Fox Hunting achieved its goal. Firstly, too many escapees who hide oversea had been repatriated to China. This not only enhanced Chinese national confidence but also enhanced the communications between China’s MPS and its counterpart of other states.  Second, besides of US’s complains, China acquired more cooperation from Europe states , Southeast Asian states, and other states.

In conclusion, China’s Fox Hunting Operation prompts its influence among the world.
