  1. Truly owerful people are people who influence others. They are leaders because they positively affect others. They aren't leaders because of position or social status. They are leaders because they make the world a better place. I will share 8 things that they do to positively affect the world.

    (1) They focus on others and not themselves. Truly powerful people d...on't care who gets the credit for accomplishments that they are involved in. They are secure enough with themselves that they don't need a lot of praise.

    (2) They make others feel important and valued. Truly powerful people are quick to praise and very, very, very slow to criticize. People are attracted to them because they see the best in others and they let others know of their value.

    (3) They have integrity and values that they live by. Truly powerful people set high standards for themselves. They live by the own principles consistently in their everyday lives.

    (4) They talk about ideas; not people. Truly powerful people love to explore creative and innovative ideas. They love to think and talk about possibilities and not limitations.

    (5) They find recreation in doing productive things. Truly powerful people don't need a lot entertainment stimulus in their life. Work is enjoyable for them. In fact, they rarely know the difference between work and play. They are energized by achievement.

    (6) They know how to think before they act and before they talk. Truly powerful people are thinkers. They are aware of the feelings of those around them. They know when to speak and when to keep silent.

    (7) They ignore pettiness. Truly powerful people don't lower themselves to pettiness. They believe in greatness. They believe in the greatness of life and they see the greatness in others.

    (8) They conserve their own energy for important tasks. Truly powerful people don't expend a lot of energy on trivial matters. They know their own limitations and when and where to focus their energy and efforts.

In my experience, what holds back English education in China is that their is no foundation of learning to speak the language. Speaking is fundamental and foundation in language learning. It is rare here in China. I find it interesting that most Chinese primary and secondary schools do not teach Chinese grammar. Yet, they focus 90% or more of their time teaching English learning grammar rules. An effort in futility from my experience of teaching more than 4000 students and thousands more students.
