Powerful people are those who have true influence into the lives of others. I'm not talking about people who have position. I'm talking about those who positively influence our lives in ways that make us better and make the world a better place. Here are 8 of the things that they say that truly give them the power of influence over others and gain them the respect that they deserve.

1. "I'm Sorry"

Saying 'I'm Sorry' can dissolve a disagreement or quarrel. Truly powerful people take responsibility for their own actions. They have the confidence and integrity to know when they are wrong. They have the courage to say, "I'm sorry."

2. "You did a great job!"

Truly powerful people give credit and praise to others. They give power to others. They give genuine praise to others. They don't need to have all of the credit.

3. "I Might Be Wrong...."

Truly powerful people are honest. Honest people can be trusted by others. It is so important to find someone you can trust and who will be honest. It is rare to find such a person. This is why there aren't so many truly powerful people.

4. "What Do You Think?"

Truly powerful people want to know and hear the opinions of others. They will not only ask you what you think, but, they have the personal discipline to listen to what you have to say. They are genuinely interested and know that you might have ideas that can help them.

5. "I Appreciate You"

Truly powerful people show gratitude. When someone shows gratitude to us, we feel appreciated. It is a feeling that we all crave as human beings. The truly powerful person can easily say this to others. They feel it and aren't afraid to say it.

6. "You Are Important"

This is not something that is said so directly. It is something that is conveyed (easily and oftentimes subtly communicated) to others in your attitude and actions. It is an intention of the heart that others feel about truly powerful people.

7. "How Do You Feel About.....?"

Truly powerful people know that others won't always remember you for who you were or what you did. They will remember you and respect and perhaps even love you for, how you made them feel. It is great to ask what a person thinks. It is greater to ask them how they feel about certain things. Everyone wants to know if you care about how they feel. When they know that you do, they feel a warmth towards you as a friend and a person that they respect.

8. Nothing

Truly powerful people know when to talk and when to not talk. They know that they can gain a lot of respect when they don't engage in negative situations and discussions. They won't lower their own personal standards to involve themselves in petty conversation, criticism or negative situations. They always seek and try to creative positivity in their environment. They choose their words with wisdom.

There are many other things I could share about truly powerful people. I hope you choose to be a truly powerful person and that you will take these 8 things into your own heart and use them in your own life. You will see that people will treat differently. They will respect and value you even more than they do now.
