Harbin: A Gelid City
Popularity 2|||
Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang, is lionized as one of the coldest cities in the north-eastern region of China. Even the name is enough to shiver your body, a thrill of frigidity. My wanderlust never curbs my passion to explore various places despite any extreme climate and it also caused me to make my steps towards Harbin. But when I landed at Harbin airport, the gentle breeze welcomed me wholeheartedly. It was summer which made me realized that Harbin enjoys all the four seasons just like the other cities of China. My Chinese friend from Harbin also elucidated me about the weather conditions in Harbin along with some prominent landmarks which we had already planned in advance. This city also convinced me to make a journey in winter because the snowfall embellishes Harbin with excellence, grace and elegance. Therefore, this excursion is an amalgamation of my two trips during summer and winter.
The next day, we headed towards the famous Hulan Estuary National Wetland Park. It was certainly a masterpiece of artistic architecture which mesmerized us completely. The weather was pleasant with moderate temperature under slight windy condition. I was amazed by the residents of Harbin whose faces were engrossed in the mirth of joy when they found me amongst them. Certainly, I shared a great day with amazing hospitality and ambiance of this elegant landmark.
The second destination we planned was based on my request because I always pay my regards to educational institutions in a city wherever I visit. It might be weird for some tourists but in my perspective, exploration is all about knowledge. Therefore, my friend suggested me to visit Harbin Normal University, an institution with excellence of intelligentsia. A sunny day with tranquil environment and the students were excited to have an interaction with me. I attributed this day to knowledge sharing and captivated a panoramic view which is an essential ingredient of my unforgettable memories.
It was the time to tribute thousands of people who died and afflicted by the flood in Songhua River. It reminded me the Peace Square in the premises of Nanjing Massacre Museum that also a monument to respect the precious lives of innocent people and peace restoration. I was deeply grieved by that unfortunate incident of flood and felt honoured to be at this historical landmark.
The weather was cloudy but we appreciated the nature because the rain did not occur. Moreover, this place is surrounded by many cafes and marts from where we not only enjoyed the coffee but also I bought some traditional handicrafts for my personal memories. The promenade was long enough but we did not feel fatigue rather energized and refreshed by the air of this great historical landmark.
Harbin is well known for its snowfall and it was not possible to keep myself away from the views of Harbin in winter. Therefore, I prepared myself for another trip to Harbin with winter collection as the temperature falls down drastically in winter. I kicked off my second trip in a skittish manner, visited different scenic points which were covered by snow and the views are still engraved in my mind and heart.
In summing up my itinerary, Harbin is whimsical and variegated. Life exists in this jewel of China with warmth of valued hospitality and suave culture. It’s a city which keeps on scintillating with full of its caprice and therefore, every year thousands of tourists including foreigners from different parts of the world flock to visit Harbin and this great city never disappoints its guests.

China’s Development Model: An exquisite transformation from a developing to a d 2017-3-25 23:14
China is always expanding the market and offering new offers. If manufactured products are still the most important in Chinese exports, the export of infrastructure and the Chinese banking system will soon become more important.
