A day for girls

Popularity 2Viewed 855 times 2017-3-7 23:26 |System category:Life| perfect, special, around, called, about

Today is a special day. A day for girls. Yep, it is the Girls' Day. As we have planned, we boys bought sweet dumplings, kiwi fruit, mangoes, sago and a box of milk. Yep, we were going to make syrup. It nearly took us one and a half hours from around 8 o'clock to around 9:30. Our syrup was not perfect as the sago was only about 80% done. Yet, it was not a big deal. With the syrup done, we took two pots of syrup and walked to the girls' dormitory. We had called  one of our female classmates to wait for us in front of the building.

There was a female superivior of dorm sitting right before the counter. I asked whether I was allowed to help take the pots of syrup to my female classmate's dorm room. She just expressed No in her face and in direct language, no matter how I pleaded to do so. So I have to see my female classmate taking the heavy pot with her both tiny hands, walking upstaires and disappearing at my sight.

A pot of syrup was with Mangoes. The other was with kiwi fruit. So they had their choice.

Just hope they could have a happy Girls' Day.

Actually, today is International Women's Day - to call it 'girls day' is quite offensive as it diminishes and trivializes all the struggles and achievements women have gone through over the years.

I don't know who told you it was 'girls day' (so incorrect), but if it was a woman, shame on her, but to do so is just ignorant.

While in China, local employers have managed to make the day quite patronising for hard-working women, by giving a 'gift' that reminds them how second-class we still are in some countries.

I suggest you 'boy's' spend the day researching the many achievements women had made despite society and not treating women or girls like people who are somehow disabled. Expand your knowledge on the many struggles women face every day in China, and don't make the mistake you have done which, to be honest, is very patronizing. Maybe call your mothers and tell them you appreciate all the sacrifices she has made for you, because you can be sure she has made so many over the years because she is a woman.

always remember that you will never be paid a fraction what your male colleagues will be paid for the same work.
you will never be asked when are you going to be married during a job interview.
Your boss will be unlikely to seksually assault or harass you at work, or ask for seksual favours for better pay or promotion.
you are unlikely to be rap** by a drunk (or not drunk) spouse when you are married.
you are unlikely to be expected to care for the elderly in your family.
you are unlikely to be told you are 'too old or ugly' to be married.

giving any woman (or girl) a gift reminding her that she is expected only to play a domestic role in society diminishes you as well as her as you reinforce 'traditions' that have prevented women from contributing as they want to society.
you might as well bind her feet and tell her to be happy about it.

Can females call each other girls? Can they have a 'Girls Night'? Or would that be offensive? Or is it like how African-Americans can call themselves N-words but nobody else should? I do not understand why some people get so offended by people calling females girls. I do not like the word 'women' or 'woman' because I think it has negative connotations. It makes a female sound old. I like to say girl or lady. If I met a female then I would say that I met a girl not a woman. What is wrong with that?

Are you one of these people that thinks people should not call females 'guys'? Some feminists think that but it seems kind of stupid to me.

As a male I do not have any problem with men being called boys. 'The boys'. I am going out with the boys. People say stuff like that and they are not trying to be offensive. I think that the intent is important dont you? Is Australian Crawl song The Boys Light Up insulting to males? Is the word male a bad thing like some feminists think the word female is a bad thing? I cant understand African-Americans having a problem with being called boy in certain situations but someone calls an African-American 'boy' and there is clearly no racist intent then is there any need to get upset about it? I would say of course not and stop being so utterly ridiculous. This is why so many people hate feminists you know. And the sad thing is that a lot of feminists seem to want to be hated. If people hate them they think they are doing a good job - and they probably are because for most modern feminists the idea seems to be to upset people and top cause problems that dont exist or do not need to.

I am a male but I am part of the sisterhood because I have worked as a childcare worker. Here in Australia there was a childcare strike on International Womens Day. Only 3% of childcare workers are men and the thinking is that since this work is traditionally - and still - done by females that is why the pay is so shockingly low. There is probably some truth to that but the reality is that this equal pay for equal work that feminists go on with is nonsense. We have laws to ensure that males and females are paid at the same rate on award wages and it is only the educated that earn a salary where there could be any difference. The fact is that females are less likely to seek/want high paid work then men and that is the main reason for there being any gap in pay between males and females. The fact is that the feminist movement is exhausted and there is nowhere for it to go at this point. At this point the first world female feminists that push this disgusting modern 'feminism' are just disgusting progressive liberals with first world privilege and for them to be crying about themselves instead of people that are not living in first world nations is sickening. How about equal pay for equal work no matter what nation you live in? American feminists want America to be the best nation for females right... Feminists are utterly disgusting wretches and either ridiculous liars or complete idiots.

I didnt get paid any extra for working as a childcare worker just because I am male. If anything being male devalued my childcare accomplishments because females in the industry treated me differently because I was male. Gave me special affirmative action-like treatment which was insulting and devalued my skills. The sexism that I experienced as a male childcare worker was shocking.

BlondeAmber: always remember that you will never be paid a fraction what your male colleagues will be paid for the same work.

1) always remember that you will never be paid a fraction what your male colleagues will be paid for the same work.

- I was never paid any more for being male when I worked in childcare. And since I do not have a university education I have never had a salary only a wage and the awards apply to both males and females. I have never been paid more for my work than a female would have been. You are being very very dishonest saying that males get paid more for the same work as females. More males seek high paid work and that is why figures can be given to make it seem as though there is a gender pay gap. There isnt.

2) you will never be asked when are you going to be married during a job interview.

If I did not have a partner when I was working as a childcare worker then many would worry that I was some kind of pedophile or something - female childcare workers do not have to worry about that.

3) Your boss will be unlikely to seksually assault or harass you at work, or ask for seksual favours for better pay or promotion.

I am not terrible looking and was even better looking when I was younger and I had females harassing me constantly when I studied childcare and when I was working in the industry. I just took the compliments. No harm was meant.

4) you are unlikely to be rap** by a drunk (or not drunk) spouse when you are married.

I have never been married because I am too poor for females to want to marry me so I dont know about this. But when I was 16 I went to a pub in Sydney and there were some strippers there and after that was finished I was super drunk and this lady that was at least in her mid-30s tried to date rape me in an alley behind the pub. It is not the only time females have tried to take advantage of me while I have been drunk.

5) you are unlikely to be expected to care for the elderly in your family.

My uncle looked after both of my grandparents when they got old and my best friends mother just died and he was her carer for her last few months.

6) you are unlikely to be told you are 'too old or ugly' to be married.

I am too poor to be married. I am not the most attractive guy in the world but with a decent pay scale I would have to beat females off with a stick. All you females are gold diggers. All you care about is money.
-----

And guess what. Most females could not join the big strike in USA for womens day because they are working low skilled jobs and cannot afford to take a day off or risk being fired. It was only the educated first world feminst complainers that turned out for the big strike - most of them dont work anyway or if they do they have flexibility that low paid worker - both male and female - do not have.

Dont you feminists worry about alleviation of poverty or anything like that. Only for minorities right? And females are a minority arent they?

How do you look in the mirror? You cant be serious.

March 8, of course is the Women's Day; yet, the day I mentioned is March 7 which for our college students stands for Girls' Day. This is in fact what I mean the Girls' Day.

I presume she was a Chinese or she was talking about the female living conditions in China. So it is of course different from what it is like for females in Australia. Regardless of all the problems, which did in fact happen in China, I feel like from my surroundings female living conditions are turning better right now, even to the point where in my mind females are superior to males in China, especially in some occasions like in school or some work places. They are doing well in school performances and striving to get better jobs. Their future in China is hopeful and will be even better.

I do not think she is Chinese. I have argues with her over something else and she seemed to be a westerner that is in or was in China. Modern feminism is a lie and they are useful idiots for wealthy white men that all can afford Sugar babies - which I a sure feminists are happy about. Poor white people deserve to suffer - especially men - but not minorities.

And yes I agree that females are superior in most areas. I am not saying that I want things to be like they were when Jane Austen wrote Sense and Sensibility. I think that it is great that females can be independent now and that they do not have to marry for security. They still do though dont they. Not many mess with broke fellas do they? They dont marry them anyway.

HailChina!: Maybe your girls boyfriend will be hit by a bus and die. I don't think you should give up hope just yet.
You must be making a joke. But actually, we've never begun yet. I've always felt her love for me. And I've always shown my closeness and kindness to her. No matter what, she's started a relationship with the other boy. I don't hate her. And I don't wanna chase after her any more - cuz I've found out that I' gonna strive for a better place in the world where I am sure I will meet the girl who's better and who's excellent and who's gonna fit in well with me. Anyway, thanks for your consolation.
