Slow down and Savor the Moment

Everything is in a rush.

Flowers are rushed to blossom to bring fragrance to and lighten the mood of people.

Deadlines are rushed to be met so that more of our precious time can be saved.

Everybody is in a rush, on the way to a workplace, to a school, to a tourist destination etc..

Children are rushing to grow up, trying all those things that are way beyond their age  and behaving in certain ways that are not becoming to their age.

Young adults are rushing to gain success and fame and then to be acknowledged by others, sparing no efforts to achieving their high-aimed goals.

Parents are rushing to make money and then rushing to raise their children well, employing all possible means to equip their kids with more skills so as to make sure they are not left behind.

This is a world on a rotator which keeps rotating faster and faster. We are supposed to feel more relaxed and comfortable thanks to technology. But we as a matter of fact tend to feel more exhausted and more stressed. I wonder whether there is a day we will be spun into the outer space when we fail to keep up with this world.

This is also a world dominated by consumerism and success.  It is so steeped in materialism that makes people feel like that are able to trade money for materialistic goods and that for happiness. But this sort of happiness exists for a very short period time. Oftentimes, it is so short that it feels almost like a blink of an eye or a splinter of a second. In order to be able to regain the pleasure, we buy more goods and chase after more so-called success. It never stops and we are never truly happy.

Opening any social networking website, what we are constantly confronted with is countless articles circulated among our virtual circle of friends. The articles always have sensational titles like "Ten Things We Should Do Before 30", "Why Should I Work Hard?" What is a Good Marriage like?" "You are Hurting People by being Blunt" "Ten Interpersonal Advice You Should Master" "What is More Important than Working Hard?" "What are You Doing when Your friends are Making tons of money? " " What should You do to be A Modern Female?"

Superficially, these articles all seem reasonable even though some of them apparently contradict each other. The moment we are reading the fast food literature, many of us constantly think "oh this is why I am not successful. I'd better start doing what they say." But there are simply too many rules of thumb or too much valuable advice afforded. With limited attention and time, it's impossible for us to follow them all, let alone persisting on doing those things suggested to yield some results. More often than not, we wind up being disappointed with ourselves and being dissatisfied with our current state.

But, the reality is that the majority of these people are just dishing out their advice without even having the slightest idea that they should probably think about the consequences in wake of the seemingly rational "life wisdom". They have no convincing evidence to back up what they state in their article. To many of them who are experts in cooking chicken soup for soul, they usually draw up one or two friends' experience to write the stuff that is actually far from being called literature. They think they are helping people to live a better life. But I seriously wish they could just shut up and leave people alone.

As a person, I don't really need much to live on. And as a person with self-consciousness, I want to live a happy life. I like materialistic stuff, but I don't want to be it's slave and turn my life into a constant chase for money to buy more materialistic stuff.

Others have never been me and never will. They don't truly understand me, so it's not a good idea to always follow others advice. What's more, what they say may be not even right. At the end of the day, we all have to figure out what we want to do with our life by ourselves.

In this informations explosion era, we are given more right to voice our personal opinions while at the same time the mainstream opinions are helping pushing the trend of success and consumerism to a higher level. As a result of this, more and more people are pushed by this tendency to pursue what they are expected to pursue-money and success. It seems a vicious cycle.

Sometimes, I wish I could go back, go back to the time before I noticed all these. Maybe I could stand me being ignorant as long as I am happy. I long to feel the happiness, like the lightness of stepping on a cloud, like the sincere chuckle from the chamber of my heart.

I just want to be happy and I hope you live a happy life as well.

Yesses.Though for me the first idea comes to me when thinking about resolutions to the issues on sharing bikes is we develop higher level of moral which could contain our behavior to the better direction, penalty rules actually are supposed to the better method of solving the issues. Penalty rules are always the starting point to change people's perspectives of their behavior.

shehemego: At my college, there are two bike-sharing companies under their operations of bike sharings. I can see bike-picking-up workers sometimes drive their e ...
Yeah I do not think I would invest in bike sharing. With better rules I think that bike sharing can be a more valuable social asset helping with transport and pollution reduction and as consumer purchasing power of the Chinese increases larger profit margins will be possible. And yeah there needs to be adequate penalties for abusing the bike sharing system. I read about two Chinese nurses that were jailed in one Chinese city for tampering with share bikes to give them unmetered access and I think this is a bit harsh but appropriate fines could act as suitable deterrent. I wouldnt get hysterical about bike sharing but I think it can work with the right rules and plan.
