Chinese Etiquette : "...If you are in CHINA,you do like CHINESE 入乡随俗"

It's a beautiful day and I am very happy to put down another of my experiences in China.
There is no Country without her unique Culture because it is the way of life of every citizen and it must be respected by foreigners living in the particular country.

However, I title this article, "IF YOU ARE IN ROME, YOU DO LIKE ROMANS AND IF YOU ARE IN CHINA, YOU DO LIKE CHINESE (入乡随俗)"

In China, there are some daily Etiquette or rules you must follow as a foreigner in order to enjoy your stay in the country, they are:

GREETINGS:
- Always stand up or remain standing when being introduced.
- Address a person by an honorific title or by Mr., Mrs., or Miss plus the family name.
- Handshake is the most common form of greeting.
- The oldest person is always greeted first as a sign of respect.

TABLE MANNERS:
Unlike the western world, we don't talk while eating but in China, reverse is the case because it's mostly the best time for Chinese to express their feelings, business talks, family talks, friendship talk and so on.  As a foreigner, you should contribute to some of the topics even when it's not funny, just give some smile, don't just concentrate on the food or else you will look like a Hungry man.

-  Drinking a toast – tap the table twice, and stand up if it's more formal.
-  At a banquet or on formal occasions, it’s polite to sample all the dishes, and at the end of the meal you should leave a little on the plate to demonstrate the generosity of the host.
- Do not put bones in your bowl. Place them in a small tray for that purpose, or you can first observe how other people do.
-Under no circumstances should chopsticks be placed upright in your bowl. This symbolizes death. Nor should you tap your bowl with chopsticks.

My Dear readers, Please watch out for the Concluding part of this topic tomorrow, thank you for your time and I hope you have a wonderful day.

We will be watching carefully. It is great if we all can remember and practice the etiquette.. Usually our Chinese friends are understanding if we forget something!

i can't bear the silence during the whole dinner.Once,i was invited for dinner at my friends house. It was the first time to meet her parents,so through the dinner, i went to all lengths to search for topics. Finally,i didn't have any idea and just focused on food.Do you know what happened to me? My attention was taken away and didn't know the taste.

Stress interferes with the senses. It sounds like you had some stress at this meal.

If you run out of conversation topic, just slurp the soup and chew the food out loud.

Great Idea but the Chinese beside you might think you are a Hungry person from your country,,,they will all tell you to eat slowly,”慢慢吃“, whereas , they eat faster than you.
